Ok, so today is Day #1 of the get in shape project. For those of you who are interested, here is what I'm starting with. I'm 205lbs, and that's the heaviest I've ever been in my life. Now that my midsection is starting to get in the way, I've decided that I need to do something about it. The overall goal here is to loose some weight and improve my overall fitness. If your playing along at home, then I think your goal should be something similar, but make it something that you'll be happy with. For me the goal right now is to loose some weight, however I think that will change as time goes on. For instance, I already know I can run on a treadmil for 15 minutes straight at a pace of 5.8, which is a little more than a 10 minute mile. You get my drift, my goals will change as time goes on.
You might be asking, what does Day #1 look like? Well I'm glad you asked, because here's what I intend to do. - Hit the gym (24 Hour Fitness) at 6:00 am.
- Run on the treadmill for 30 minutes, hopefully making it to three miles in that 30 minutes
- Do 100 sit ups on the sit up machine
Loosing weight is more than just working out, so eating right is also a huge part of this ordeal. So here are the eating habits I hope to stick to. - Drink the recommended amount of water
- No Soda
- Limit breads to the morning, preferably breakfast
- Healthy Snacking
- More fruits and vegetables
So that's Day #1, once I'm done with the day, I'll post how I did. |
